We are in touch with @NCSC regarding our Transparency Initiative and I am sure we will find the way to work. As Barclays remove software offerings. Your business.

Barclays will continue to offer Kaspersky anti-virus software to customers over the coming months, despite concerns about its Russian supplier’s alleged links to intelligence gathering by the Kremlin. The British bank has sought to downplay fears it has compromised hundreds of thousands of customers’ security by offering Kaspersky software free with online banking services since 2008. It is understood to have been used by some 250,000 customers over the period. Concerns have been building about Kaspersky since its use was banned within US government agencies in September. British surveillance network GCHQ suspects Kaspersky may have been used by Russian spying agency the FSB to gather intelligence on sensitive foreign targets, with military and government officials thought to be most exposed, the Financial Times has reported. No evidence suggests any of Barclays customers’ data has been compromised.

“The NCSC is not a regulator and does not mandate or ban any products. Our certification schemes do not currently cover anti-virus or anti-malware services.” Kaspersky said in a statement it has 'never helped, nor will help, any government in the world, including Russia, with its cyberespionage or offensive cyber efforts'. Adam Maskatiya, general manager UK & Ireland at Kaspersky Lab, added: 'Kaspersky Lab continues to work with Barclays to provide its customers with internet security. 'Barclays, through its global reach, has done much to improve public awareness of cybersecurity threats and we look forward to continuing our relationship to help keep its customers protected on-line”. In a statement issued at the time US federal agencies stopped using Kaspersky in September, the Department of Homeland Security said: “The department is concerned about the ties between certain Kaspersky officials and Russian intelligence and other government agencies, and requirements under Russian law that allow Russian intelligence agencies to request or compel assistance from Kaspersky and to intercept communications transiting Russian networks.”.
